The stock GM-Rochester injectors are well known for not being the best injectors on this planet. It is quite common that the stock Rochester injectors you have installed in your 4-Cylinder Esprit (from factory) are way out of specs. They differ too much in flow and usually they also have a horrible spray pattern. This results in an uneven running engine, poor idle and last but not least it robs power and also may cause serious defects if one or more injectors give too less fuel. A piston that gets damaged because of too lean running condition is not impossible !
